Macau is one of the oldest European settlements in China, which was established by the Portuguese between 1554 and 1557. The city was under them until the handover took place to China in 1999. Being located at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta, Macau is one of the most dynamic regions of China, and just over 60km from Hong Kong. Macau tower is an interesting place for the visitors. One can admire the views from the observation deck or try one of the more adventurous activities such as Skywalk, the thrilling walk around the main outer rim of the tower. Macau tourism and gambling are the mainstays of the city’s economy. Macau located at the west bank of Pearl River Delta in South China, is the intersection of Mainland China and South China Sea. It is also located at the south of tropic of Cancer. The winds directions in winter and summer are opposite. Therefore, Macau is in the monsoon region and from the climate classification is considered mild and rainy in summer. The most comfortable period begins from the middle of October to December.

Luxury items are cheaper here than in other cities in the region. Right from jewelry, cameras, porcelain, electronic items, mobile phones, watches, to cashmere sweaters and silk clothing are available at very reasonable prices. The city is a great treasure for Chinese antiques and collectibles.
