Jade Market, at the intersection of Kansu and Battery streets, is crowded with stalls selling jade items. Jade in every imaginable form is available. They are sculpted from large blocks of the raw material to tiny, ornately carved chips.
About 450 registered stall-owners sell amulets, ornaments, necklaces and trinkets made from the revered green stone. Jade Market Hong Kong is open daily from 10am - 3:30pm. This is a fun place to browse and to buy an inexpensive memento of your visit, but think twice about buying anything costly unless you are a jade expert. |
